HoundFolio

Dog profiles, care records, photographs, documents and recorded walks are stored on your devices. HoundFolio can also place a recovery backup in the app’s private iCloud Documents container. Tom Wright cannot view the contents of your device or private iCloud container.

Information handled by the app

• Dog profiles, medication, treatment, veterinary and care records you enter
• Photographs and documents you choose to add
• Precise location points recorded while you actively record a walk
• Your current location when you request local weather
• Reminders, preferences and backup information

Apple and external services

• Apple iCloud: Stores the recovery backup in your private iCloud account when that feature is available and enabled. Apple processes this information under its privacy terms; the developer does not receive the backup.
• Apple Weather (WeatherKit): Receives the location needed to return current conditions when you ask for local walk weather. The app does not send that location to the developer.
• Apple Maps: Displays a recorded route and may process map requests. The route record remains in HoundFolio unless you delete it.

How long information remains

• Device records remain until you delete individual records, erase the app’s data or remove the app.
• A private iCloud recovery backup remains until it is replaced by a newer backup or removed through your Apple iCloud storage controls.
• The developer does not retain walk locations, dog records, photographs, documents or WeatherKit requests.

Your controls

• Delete individual dogs, walks, records and attachments inside HoundFolio.
• Remove the app to delete its local container, and use Apple’s iCloud storage controls to remove a remaining private recovery backup.
• You can withdraw location, camera, photo, reminders or notification access in Apple Settings at any time.

A permission is requested only when you use the related feature. You can review or withdraw access in Apple Settings.

• Location while using the app for local weather and during recorded walks
• Background location only while an active walk recording continues with the iPhone locked
• Photos or camera when you add images or scan records
• Reminders and notifications for care tasks you choose to schedule
• iCloud for private recovery backup

• Check iCloud is enabled on every device that should use the private recovery backup.
• Keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled when using the Watch app.
• If a widget looks old, open HoundFolio once to refresh its shared on-device data.

If you email support, your email address, message and any attachments are received through Microsoft Outlook and used to respond, investigate faults, protect the apps and meet legal obligations. This processing is based on responding to your request and the developer’s legitimate interest in providing secure support. Support messages are kept only while needed for those purposes or a related legal issue, then deleted. Do not send passwords, full payment details, children’s full names, medical records or other sensitive documents.

Most app information is held only on your device or in your private Apple account, so the developer cannot retrieve it for you. Use the deletion and permission controls above. Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of information held by the developer. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Policy date: 20 August 2026. This notice will be updated before an app begins any materially different collection, sharing or use.
